Laguna Beach CA – January 25, 2011 - Rasta Taco, Southern California’s Original Mobile Taco Cart Catering Company, and Pacific Mammal Marine Center, of Laguna Beach, CA, announced a benefit and tasting event at Detroit Bar, in Costa Mesa, CA, Saturday, February 5th, 2011 at 9:30pm.
“We believe in developing synergy with like-minded-companies and non-profits”, explained Mario “Maji” Melendez, Marketing Manager at Rasta Taco. “This benefit parlays well with our vision of working not only with the public at large, but with people, companies, and non-profits that represent the community well.  We look forward to a fun evening and listening to some great music.”
The event will benefit Pacific Marine Mammal Centers Flood Relief Fund. On December 22, 2010, PMMC fell victim to the worst flood damage ever experienced in the 40-year existence of the organization. Due to the heavy rains and an overwhelmed drainage system, the interior of the hospital had over 4 feet of water trapped inside. As a result, a majority of the important medical supplies and diagnostic equipment is unsalvageable and all of the Center’s major appliances and cabinetry are ruined. Because of the damage, PMMC is currently unable to accept seal and sea lion patients that are in need of medical attention.
The benefit concert event will include live performances by My Hero, nominated for Best Hip Hop Music Act for the OC Music Awards and Speaker Junkies, nominated for Best Electronic Music Act for the OC Music Awards.
