Prime Distribution Services, Inc. Appoints Jim Kitz as Senior Vice President of Business Development

Jan. 31, 2011 - PRLog -- Indianapolis, IN (January 31, 2011) – Prime Distribution Services, Inc. (PDS), a leading provider of warehousing, multi-vendor pool consolidation and transportation management services, today announced the appointment of Mr. Jim Kitz as the Senior Vice President of Business Development.  In this role, Mr. Kitz will be responsible for the new business development strategies and implementation for this growth-oriented, retail-focused third-party logistics company.  

Commenting on the appointment, Mark R. Holden, President and Chief Executive Officer of PDS, stated “Jim is a proven leader in the logistics industry with more than 20 years of experience helping to identify and design supply chain solutions for shippers in North America.  A significant portion of Jim’s career has been spent in the engineering and operations side helping shippers improve their supply chain processes.  In addition, Jim will also play a very important role in our acquisition strategy as we look to expand our footprint within the retail logistics industry.”

Prior to joining PDS, Jim spent approximately ten years leading the new business development efforts for two leading providers of logistics services.  Most recently, Jim served as Vice President of Business Development for Greatwide Logistics Services, Inc., a national provider of third-party logistics services, where he helped the company move its focus from dedicated trucking to full-service supply chain logistics.  Prior to Greatwide, Jim served as Vice President of Business Development for Exel, Inc., a leading contract logistics provider with more than $4 billion in revenues, where he was responsible for creating value-added transportation solutions for shippers.   Earlier, Jim spent over ten years with FedEx Logistics, Inc., Roadway Express, Inc., Yellow Freight System, Inc., the Limited, Inc. and United Parcel Service in various positions, including Director of Operations and Engineering.
