Tea Party Leader: Egypt Uprising serves as a "Warning to Obama"

Jan. 30, 2011 - PRLog -- In a blog posting and speaking on the Brian Sussman Morning Show Friday (KSFO 560 AM) the controversial co-founder of the Tea Party movement said that the uprising in Egypt should "serve as a warning to President Barack Hussein Obama."

The former chairman of the Tea Party Express wrote: "It’s a lesson that despotic regimes never seem to grasp despite being the same old song and so painfully predictable and ominously, the parallels between what is happening in the streets of Egypt and the underlying discontent in this nation are almost indistinguishable."

Guest hosting the popular San Francisco radio show, Williams explained  that people "...will invitability rebel against what he termed "overbearing government."  He then went on to compare the Obama Adminstration to the regime of Egyptian strongman Hosni Mubarak as one that  "rises to power and cements itself by exploiting class / racial / regional (or other) differences, or any combination of them, among the population.  The vast middle class is kept happy with generous benefits, enabled by a protected bureaucratic stratum, supported by an ever growing segment of people utterly dependent on the status quo for their economic or even physical survival."

Terming the protests in Egypt as "Tea parties, Egyptian style" he explained that they are the "invitable" consequence of authoritarian government "slamming shut the doors to avenues for redress before open revolt becomes necessary."  He asserted that the Obama Administration is "flirting dangerously" with that kind of policy but added that "we are a long way from anything close to that."

Just the same he pointed to the Leftist riots of the 1960's and the Civil War as illustrations of his point that such events are "not alien" to our shores.
