By: APM Public Relations-Angela P. Moore Hands of Compassion Homecare, Inc., is sponsoring Cynthia Williams’ trip to Midland to share her story with Permian Basin. Williams is a Teen Life Coach and Motivational Speaker, whose mission is to tour the country to speak with young adults at schools to discuss the consequences of Distracted Driving on the “Parents Against Distracted Driving Tour”. Love From Afar is a non-profit organization founded by Williams after losing her son, Christopher, in a car accident involving texting and driving. Love From Afar’s primary focus is raising awareness to the dangers of distracted driving, which is the leading cause of death for teenagers. “Our goal is to come together to save lives and bring awareness to such a relevant issue affecting the Permian Basin Community, says Tara Harrison, physician liaison for Hands of Compassion. “Our passion concerning texting and driving came from seeing so many of our community members dying in tragic distracted driving accidents. We want to not only be defensive drivers but offensive ones as well. Many of these accidents could have been avoided if our community recognized the dangers of distracted driving.” About Hands of Compassion Hands of Compassion, a Medicare certified and CHAP accredited Home Health Agency cares for qualified elderly and disabled persons.
