DMF Systems launches ePrescribing & Drug-to-Drug Interaction CDSS to their eDischarge Solution

Feb. 10, 2011 - PRLog -- DMF Systems eDischarge solution has been successfully delivering discharge summaries to GPs electronically within 24 hours of discharge for several years. By working closely with clinicians and hospital staff the solution has evolved into an extremely intuitive and extensively utilised solution that has far reaching benefits.

By interfacing with existing hospital information systems the eDischarge solution allows clinicians to access real time information on their patients and allows clinicians to make more informed decisions should patients be re-admitted to different departments.

We have developed and incorporated two new modules to the solution ePrescribing and clinician decision support (CDSS) for drug-to-drug and allergy interactions.
eDischarge allows primary and secondary care clinicians to communicate patient outcomes in a more accurate and timely fashion. It allows for access to real time patient information that contributes to driving down avoidable patient costs.

Two areas in particular are readmission rates and medication errors. By providing up to date current and discharged patient information in a web based application, clinicians can make informed decisions regarding readmission when a patient presents shortly after discharge.

Our new ePrescribe and drug to drug interaction CDSS modules will help to significantly reduce medication errors due to illegibility issues and interactions that may occur due to lack of knowledge of existing medications or unnoticed interactions.
