Bed Bug Seminar New Orleans

Feb. 14, 2011 - PRLog -- Although extinct for decades, bed bugs have made a resurgence and have gained media coverage nationwide. Due to their transient nature, bed bugs have surfaced in many business establishments, including hotels, in most major cities and Louisiana is no exception.

The Department of Health and Hospitals of the State of Louisiana, which reported NO cases five years ago now acknowledges reports in Louisiana.  That being the reality, the Greater New Orleans Hotel & Lodging Association in conjunction with the Louisiana Hotel & Lodging Association and the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals will offer a briefing on bed bugs in Louisiana, on Wednesday, February 16 following the Greater New Orleans Hotel & Lodging Association General Membership Meeting.

State Entomologist, Kyle Moppert, will present the facts on bed bugs, what to look for, how to react and how to eradicate them.

After the presentation please stop by to meet New Orlean's first and only Bed Bug Canine, Henry.  Henry is a 2 year old rescue Beagle trained and certified by the Iron Heart Dog Training Academy of Kansas City.  His handler and current trainer, Clif Tomasini, will also be available to answer questions and highlight the importance of catching this pest early.
