Feb. 15, 2011 - PRLog -- Cyclists are anticipating the first bicycling event of the year on Florida's First Coast.  The 4th annual Ride with Me for Autism presented by the Jessica Green Foundation is a charity event to raise funds that give future hope to families and individuals who struggle with Autism. Ride with Me for Autism 2011 will be held on March 26, 2011 at 7:00 a.m. and take place at historic Camp Milton, Jacksonville-Baldwin Rail Trail, 1175 Halsema Road North in Jacksonville, Florida.

One hundred percent of the proceeds from this event will enable the Jessica Green Foundation, Inc. (a non-profit organization) to give Autism awareness education, advocacy assistance, provide support and to help the families obtain the services needed for their loved one(s). Among the concerns of parents with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, the future of the care of their children when they become older adults is forefront on their minds.  The foundation’s vision is to provide persons with Autism with an assisted living facility in a safe and loving environment to be named “Jessica’s Safe Place.”

This event offers a superb training platform for other upcoming cycling events with a line up of four distance options available to participants: the 62-mile (100k) ride, the 29-mile ride and 10-mile ride plus a family fun ride of 3-5 miles riding on a former railroad track that has been paved to provide a smooth and safe cycling experience surrounded in a tranquil nature and historical preserve. First Aid, professional sports massage, well stocked rest stops, complete SAG course support, motorcycle escorts and bike mechanics will be available throughout the route. After the ride, participants are encouraged to enjoy the live entertainment featuring Doyle Primm and The Mixx Band at the post ride celebration. Official T-shirt, a healthy breakfast, a hearty BBQ lunch catered by AJ’s on Park with fresh salads provided by Zoe’s Kitchen on Riverside Ave. and drinks are included in the registration fee. Plus, all pre-registered cyclists will automatically be entered in a raffle drawing for valuable prizes. Awards, prizes & recognition for top fundraising individual, top fundraising team, and largest team.

Last year, Ride with Me for Autism attracted riders from around Florida and as far away as New York.  Proof that this event is growing? This year, Ride with Me has attracted participants from as far away as Stockholm Sweden.

Registration is now open for Ride with Me for Autism 2011. Interested participants can register at www.active.com/triathlon/jacksonville-fl/ride-with-me-for-autism-2011. The entry fee is $25 for adults plus a $100 minimum fundraising pledge and $10 for children (17 years old and under). The fee increases on February 26th to $30 for adults and $15 for children.
