Latest web series Om Sweet Om is definitely one to watch!

Feb. 17, 2011 - PRLog -- From the multi-talented writer, producer and actor Julie Brar, comes the latest web series to hit the internet. “Om Sweet Om” tells the story of one unmarried, almost thirty and pregnant Indo-Canadian woman carving out her place in the downward dog-eat-dog world of the modern day yoga craze.

Anita Prewal is a beautiful, hard working yoga teacher who opens a studio in downtown Vancouver called “Om Sweet Om”. Unfortunately her whack-job business partner is an incompetent Svengali who ends up in jail after trying to fake his own kidnapping. Anita is left to run the studio with only the aid of her aged parents and one other teacher - the loyal nice-guy named Lorne.

Enter Sarah Koslausky, the antithesis of yoga- and Anita. This former model-slash-dancer is the picture of blonde, balloony ambition. She sees the dollar signs in the yoga boom and decides to take advantage- right beside “Om Sweet Om”. Her hustle clearly trumps her skill level but sex sells and Sarah’s open for business. To make things worse Anita’s former partner planted a seed in her before he went up the river. And as a soon-to-be single mum, she must make her small business work for the survival of her tiny family.
In each episode, Anita and Sarah entice the paying customer with wares expounding all that is good and bad in yoga. From Keigel yoga to self-defense yoga, it’s a no-holds-barred race for supremacy. “Om Sweet Om” is a comedic look at the child-parent dynamic when roles must be redefined to survive the new world economy.

Executive Producer/Writer/Actor- Julie Brar is a Vancouver based actor, writer, and producer. Om Sweet Om was born out of her decade long experience in the varying yoga scenes in Los Angeles, Toronto and Vancouver. Julie’s acting credits include Smallville, Search and Rescue and Fringe. She made her feature film debut in Chris Columbus’ Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief.
