Bencardino Excavating Awarded Contract to Work on Lower Bucks Public Safety Training Center

Feb. 18, 2011 - PRLog -- Bencardino Excavating was awarded the site development contract to work on the new Public Safety Training Center in Bristol Township, Lower Bucks County. The training center will include a masonry building to stage fires as well as indoor and outdoor classroom areas.
The Bencardino Excavating crew is contributing to the ongoing project that broke ground in October 2010. The Bucks County-area excavators will complete demolition and clearing of 10,000 yards of cut to fill, storm water and sanitary distribution with curbs and paving. The project manager is Dave Fink and the foreman is Ronnie Krajewski, Jr.

The 10-acre complex includes an 8,500 square foot burn building and a 5,600 square foot education building. The burn building will have training areas with structures typical to those found in the Lower Bucks area, including residential, industrial and commercial buildings. The new facility will offer training in basement and roof emergencies. In addition, trainees will be able to experience emergency situations such as tanker fires, hazardous spills and natural and propane gas emergencies through a “Chemical Prop Pad.”
Bucks County Community College currently provides programming through a facility in Doylestown, Pa. The addition of the new training center to the Lower Bucks County area will allow for shorter commutes for public safety vehicles, thus ensuring that resources are readily accessible to the areas they serve.
