Feb. 21, 2011 - PRLog -- “The Hollow Project” is coming to town via an innovative collaboration between the nondenominational Community Christian Church (CCC) and behavioral health hospital Linden Oaks, both of Naperville.  On Monday, February 28 from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. at CCC’s Yellow Box campus, Jena Morrow, author of Hollow: an Unpolished Tale, will tell her own stories of healing through her journey of low self-esteem, negative body image and eating disorder.  Morrow is also a songwriter for Daniel’s Window, a rock band whose original songs speak to the heart about healing and hope; Daniel’s Window will be performing at The Hollow Project.

“Teens, college students and adults will be treated to a one-of-a-kind stage event that promises to rock their bodies and fill their hearts,” says Kathy Jarman, lay leader at Community Christian Church and one of the coordinators of The Hollow Project.
Morrow’s book chronicles her journey through self-esteem and body image issues and eating disorder recovery. Her journey will motivate readers to let go of the negative voices inside their heads, like “I’m not good enough; I’m too fat; I’ll never change…”

“At The Hollow Project, attendees will learn how Jena turned her life around from addiction to a full life of joy, meaning and purpose,” Jarman adds.  “Whether you are male or female, young or old, you will be challenged and transformed by the partnering of music and testimony.  Be drawn from familiar worlds of negative thoughts, anxiety and depression into a new order of courage, hope and destiny.”

Shawn Williams, campus pastor at the Yellow Box, adds, “I am very excited to partner with Linden Oaks to create an event that will provide a sense of hope and healing for people in our community.”

Tickets are $5, and early registration is available by calling (630) 527-6363.  Tickets will also be available at the door, and seating is limited.  The event takes place Monday, February 28 from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Yellow Box, 1635 Emerson Lane, Naperville.  Copies of Morrow’s book, Hollow: an Unpolished Tale, and CD’s from Daniel’s Window will be available for sale at the event.  With CCC and Linden Oaks, The Hollow Project is also co-sponsored by ANAD, the national association of anorexia nervosa and associated disorders in conjunction with National Eating Disorder Awareness Week.
