Feb. 23, 2011 - PRLog -- The ancient world of Egypt holds many mysteries including stashes of gold that have never been discovered.  Some of the most intriguing time periods for that part of the world begin in 1279 BC or almost 3300 years ago.  Even prior to that, the great pyramids of Giza were built by the kings with a distinct purpose in mind.  Those structures provided a place to store their possessions until the king could return from the underworld.

But, how were they going to keep the corpse from deteriorating with time?  It was necessary for the body to be preserved for there to be any reunion with the spirit at a later date.  That is one of the greatest mysteries of all.  The process of mummification was perfected by the priests to insure the body would survive the test of time.

Thousands of years have gone by, and we have finally been able to locate the mummy of Ramesses the Great.  He is now on display in Cairo, but are we sure that is really him?  Here are some facts to consider.  Ramesses the Great ruled Egypt for an astounding sixty-six years – much longer than any other Pharaoh.  He was considered a god by many, including himself.  Upon the death of his father, Sety I, Ramesses II later referred to as Ramesses the Great came into power.  He ruled from 1279 BC to 1213 BC, during the greatest dynasty incurred in Egypt.  There are some who doubt that it was the same person who remained in power for the entire sixty-six years.  Could there have been more than one Ramesses II?  If so, who were the imposters and why the deception?

Egypt is filled with statues and monuments honoring Ramesses the Great and Nefertari.  Even some of those statues of the same person look differently.  Many claim this is the Pharaoh who died in the Red Sea while chasing after Moses and the slaves.  Yet, their ruler lived on in the form of a man, then a god, and finally as a mummy that was to be united with the spirit from the underworld.  There are tombs in the North and temples in the South, honoring the two prominent leaders of Egypt.  But, there are many hidden treasures that have never been discovered.

As our honored guests, you are invited to travel back in time to ancient Egypt during the reign of Ramesses the Great.  But, be forewarned!  This trip is not for the faint of heart.  The Egyptian dynasties were powerful and full of mysteries.  Some of those mysteries are being uncovered during our own generation, but the search for answers is plagued with dangers.  So why take the risks?  Man’s quest for the desire to know overpowers the fear and dangers presented by the search.

Two of the best archeologists that history has ever revealed live right here in Central Florida.  It is not about the money; they are already rich.  It is not about the fame for they have already reached the top.  Why would they risk everything to take on such a dangerous mission?  Because they are driven by the urge to learn, and the world is rich with knowledge simply waiting to be tapped into.

Ancient Egypt holds many mysteries.  Thousands of years of wealth and knowledge are buried within its borders.  Travel with us as we revisit the days of Ramesses the Great.  Your tour guide – who better qualified to lead us than Dr. Andrew Rogers and Dr. Kathleen McGregor.  But, be forewarned!  You must be prepared to dodge bullets, rescue beautiful damsels, and find the greatest treasures of all Egypt while holding onto your dearest friends.

Sounds too easy?  Throw in a few mysterious monks and a host of frightening mummies while dangling a stash of gold that rivals Fort Knox.

Still think you can handle more?  How about adding Ramesses the Great and his powerful army breathing down your neck?

Not enough, you say?  Let’s throw in a sinister group of menacing thugs who will stop at nothing to find the ancient gold.

Now are you ready?  Then, let’s go search for the greatest treasures of all Egypt.

You will be amused, surprised, and finally brought to tears.  So, if you think you can handle it – we are waiting for you in Chapter 1.
