Main Line Private School Students Donate Hundreds of Baby Supplies to Needy Moms

Feb. 26, 2011 - PRLog -- Nearly 200 Devon Prep students and faculty participated in the Rally and March for Life in Washington, D.C. on Monday, January 24, to mark the anniversary of Roe vs. Wade. Under the direction of Headmaster Rev. James Shea, Sch.P., the Devon Prep contingent marched up Constitution Avenue passed the Capitol Building to the Supreme Court Building. There, with thousands of others, they proclaimed their belief in the sanctity of human life from the moment of conception to the time of natural death.

For several weeks before the Rally & March for Life, Devon Prep’s Pro-life Club ran a Baby Supplies Drive to benefit Catholic Relief Services (CRS) of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. More than $3,000 in baby items, including diapers, formula, and wipes, will be distributed to needy mothers and their babies in Catholic Social Services’ Family Services Centers throughout the five county Philadelphia area.

Before leaving for Washington, Devon Prep Headmaster and Pro Life Club Co-Moderator, Rev. James J. Shea, Sch.P., blessed the collected items.
