Facecrooks issues scam warnings to Facebook users

BIRMINGHAM, AL – February 27, 2011 –

Facecrooks is warning Facebook users of several viral survey scams currently circulating on the social network.

For those unfamiliar with this type of scam, survey scams lure victims in with a sensation headline or a false promise of some kind. The scammer’s goal is to have the user complete a survey or download a file. Each time a survey is completed the scam creator earns a commission. These can be very dangerous, in that, many of these file downloads contain viruses and other malware. Identity theft issues are also a major concern because the surveys usually require varying degrees of personal information to be submitted by the user.

The scams that are hugely viral on Facebook at the moment have the following titles:
