SAJJAD PURVEZ - Finance Minister seeks help from corporate sector to push reforms

FM India Mr Pranab Mukherjee has urged the corporate sector to help in bringing about consensus in Parliament to push through long pending pro-reform legislation in financial sector. He said this is important as the UPA does not have adequate numbers in the two houses. The Constitutional Amendment Bill for ushering in Goods and Services Tax, GST, six other major bills are pending for approval in the two houses. For approving the Constitutional Amendment Bill , a 2/3rd majority is required to approve the legislation. They include amendment in Insurance Bill, the Revised Pension Fund..
