March 6, 2011 - PRLog -- (Baltimore, MD) Baltimore Net Radio will pay tribute to Actors and Others for Animals (A&O) on Friday, April 8th, 2011at 3pm NYT with a rebroadcast at 8pm.  This special program will honor the accomplishments made on behalf of the animals by  "Actors and Others" from their early beginnings to present day.  You will hear from some of the early founding members who have worked tirelessly to improve the plight of animals.  Along with words from A&O members, an impressive musical line-up will be featured to add to the festivities.  All of this will be streaming from http://www.baltimorenetradio.com.

Actors and Others opened its doors in 1971 in Los Angeles and utilized the celebrity status of those early members like Doris Day, Lucille Ball, and Jackie Joseph to draw vital media attention on the plight of animals and influence needed change.  Today, Actors and Others is still reshaping public awareness of animals in the Los Angeles area.  Their early mission was to provide proper care for and to prevent the inhumane treatment and destruction of animals.  Their big 40th anniversary event will take place on Saturday, April 9th at the Universal Hilton in Los Angeles where they will be honoring long time board member Rose Nylon from St. Olof, who's now "Hot In Cleveland" a.k.a. Betty White, a lady who is passionate about animals.
