March 9, 2011 - PRLog -- We all know the problem. Our children fail to develop optimally in school for a whole variety of reasons. We know that falling behind at a young age often marks out a future that maintains the child below expectation. Life chances develop from capabilities developed at an early age and children who fall behind usually remain behind.

Learning difficulties and problems stem from many experiences. Sometimes the teacher is not motivated to encourage a particular child. Perhaps the child does not fit in with the rest of the class, is being isolated in some way, or is being bullied. In such circumstances, the child may disengage from class and fail to engage fully. As a result, the child’s development suffers.

Teaching in schools is optimized for group learning. A child’s needs might not be recognised in the crowded classroom. In some circumstances, a diagnosis of dyslexia may serve to set the child apart and without adequate support. Individual problems occur for a variety of reasons – sometimes personal or home related, sometimes reflecting a lack of confidence.

And the child suffers – aggravated by the lack of an effective system to support individual needs and learning challenges.

But that is set to change with the introduction of the ground-breaking “Advanced Learning Academy” in Carlow. The Advanced Learning Academy provides individual assessment, tailored accelerated learning programs and confidence building. It guarantees outstanding results with children who currently struggle in the ‘one system fits all’ education system prevalent in Ireland today. Children who enroll in the Academy will experience accelerated progress in reading, spelling and math’s and more.

Whilst focusing on the core subjects, the Academy also promises an enlightened and broad learning experience covering a range of additional subjects.

The Academy is an outcome of many years experience in teaching – ranging from pre-school through to secondary school. It also leverages expertise in speech and drama to effect confidence-building and assuredness. The qualities are widely recognised as key building blocks to successful learning - and to success in life.

The Academy’s approach reflects the challenges experienced by young children and has a proven record of achieving outstanding results for children whose learning had not previously progressed sufficiently in the school system.

The Academy embodies an action-based approach developed under the guidance of Jane Doyle, in collaboration with a number of innovative teaching professionals.

“If grinds and private classes have failed, if your child has been bullied, or where a diagnosis of dyslexia or other special need has resulted in additional learning support without sufficient progress, we can help”, says Jane Doyle who adds, “Our process shows optimised and accelerated advances in reading spelling and math’s even with the most challenging children where the traditional classroom has failed.”

The new service is located upstairs at No. 4 The Potato Market in Carlow and offers flexible learning programs to suit every child.

The Academy offers one-on-one and/or small group learning sessions. For those children in home schooling, the Academy runs group classes that support learning and general development skills. In addition the Academy offers a unique program to assist all children cope with the transition from Primary to Secondary School. The Academy also offers after-school learning support and is happy to discuss individual needs.

The Academy is limiting places for the first six months and invites interested parents to apply now for the initial places. Learning support might consist one or two hours per week, or a child might benefit from an initial period of more intense tailored support. Enquiries can be directed to email using the contact page on the Academy’s website http://www.TheAdvancedLearningAcademy.com or by phoning the Principal on 086 3939197.
