* Japan's Tomy Co plans to buy U.S. toymaker RC2 Corp for about 50 billion yen ($604 million) to expand its sales and offset falling domestic demand, the Nikkei business daily said.

* Planned merger partners Deutsche Boerse and NYSE Euronext may decide to dilute the German firm's stake in the U.S.-based Direct Edge stock exchange by attracting new bank investors, The Wall Street Journal said, citing a person with knowledge of the matter.

* Qatar Airways is eyeing acquisitions and could strike a deal as early as this year, a German newspaper cited Chief Executive Akbar Al Baker as saying.
