Metal Panels Inc., a leading steel roofing & siding manufacturer, opens new KC distribution center

March 11, 2011 - PRLog -- Metal Panels Inc., a manufacturer of metal panels and accessories for the metal roofing and metal building industry, has opened a distribution center in Kansas City, Kansas to better serve and expand their four-state customer base.  Contractors and builders in Kansas, Missouri, lower Iowa and Nebraska will now have a closer supplier for panels and accessories, which translates into more competitive product pricing, locally-stocked inventory, and shorter turnaround time on custom orders.  Mitchell Hentkowski, President of Metal Panels Inc. comments, “We were aware that the Kansas market was underserved, and we’ve put a great deal of thought and effort into developing the best way to meet the needs of this market.  I believe the time is right to bring the services of MPI to Kansas.”

MPI’s expansion will begin with a local distribution center, while constructing their own manufacturing facility in the city within the next 18 months.  The Kansas City location and business development is under the direction of General Manager Jimmy Johnson.

Contractors and builders will be able to purchase quality steel thru-fastener and standing seam panels in a wide range of EnergyStar colors.  Panels will be available in two finishes, and carry a finish warranty of up to 40 years.  A wide range of accessories including fasteners, doors, windows, insulation and more will be available at the Kansas City location.  Custom trim, up to 21 ft. can be ordered with a short turnaround, a hallmark of MPI.  Frequent shipments from MPI’s Tulsa manufacturing plant will mean contractor orders should take days, not weeks to fulfill.
