Humanitarian "Goes the Extra Mile" across America

The Hiking Humanitarian will hike across America to raise publicity and funds for both local and global humanitarian causes.

March 17, 2011 - PRLog -- Housing, Health, and Hunger are three major problems reaching near-crisis levels in America.  Housing issues affect 95 million people in the United States with problems ranging from insurmountable debt to homelessness.  The health of Americans is in decline as our sedentary lifestyle and poor diet makes our diabetes rates three times higher than the rest of the world.  Hunger is increasing as 50 million Americans, one-third of them children, do not always have food on the table.

Dr. Kirk Sinclair, the Hiking Humanitarian, combines his two great passions for humanity and long-distance foot travel to help those in need.  His 2011-2012 Humanitarian Hike, a 5,000+ mile journey along the American Discovery Trail, raises money for Housing, Health and Hunger.  Along the way he collaborates with Lions Clubs to encourage America to believe in humanity and become involved with local humanitarian causes and organizations.

Invite the Hiking Humanitarian to discuss:

•   How to get involved in local humanitarian efforts.
•   How being civilized gets in the way of being a humanitarian.
•   Why civic involvement has declined to critically low levels.
•   Disturbing trends in Housing, Health and Hunger.
•   How Kirk came by his calling as the Hiking Humanitarian.
