New York Construction Materials Recycler Builds Green Reputation

Con-Strux, LLC of Nassau and Suffolk Counties, NY has joined the Green Business Bureau to become green business certified.

March 21, 2011 - PRLog -- March 21, 2011 HOUSTON – Con-Strux, LLC was built on the green principles of and recycle and reuse, recycling concrete and asphalt to create Recycled Concrete Aggregate.  The company recently joined the Green Business Bureau (GBB) to become green business certified.

“We decided to join the GBB because its our business is to divert concrete and asphalt from the waste stream and conserve our ever-shrinking landfill space,”  says  Marc Bretz, Con-Strux’s general manager.  “If we are creating a cradle-to-cradle scenario with the waste we take in and process for other people and the  industries we serve, shouldn’t we do that with all waste we generate as a company?”

Bretz says Con-Strux chose the GBB because it “focuses on our practices as a company”. He says that while Con-Strux is already part of the green economy, he wanted green to be a bigger part of the culture as a company and his team’s personal lives.

Prior to joining the GBB, Con-Strux did have several green initiatives in place.  The company used its waste oils to heat shop areas.   Equipment was kept serviced and tuned to reduce wasted fuel and our carbon footprint. In addition, Con-Strux recycled any steel that came in with the concrete and asphalt waste.   The Company also sourced products that were made with recycled material.

Moving forward the company is most looking forward to the pride and confidence in doing its part to protect natural resources with our products and services and by being a "Green" leader in its own operations and to the industries we touch.

Con-Strux is a multi facility concrete and asphalt recycler that accepts demolished masonry materials and employs crushing and screening technology to create Recycled Concrete Aggregate. This aggregate is then used for new construction as a ground stabilizer under roads and foundations, or drainage projects where the soil condition needs to be amended by adding stone to promote drainage.
