March 23, 2011 - PRLog -- Building on the success that it has enjoyed with Android smartphones, the HTC Flyer will be HTC's first venture into the tablet market, which has experienced a surge of interest since the release of the Apple iPad in 2010.

The HTC Flyer is an Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread tablet housed by an impressive aluminium unibody design. However, with a range of Android tablets due for release in 2011, the new HTC tablet requires something more than a nice casing to differentiate it from the competition.  http://www.clove.co.uk/htc-flyer

So, what sets the HTC Flyer apart from the other Android tablets out there? First of all, there's the 'Magic Pen' stylus. HTC is known for its innovation and it has always been a superb manufacturer when it comes to stylus based devices. The HTC Flyer is the perfect ambassador for this stylus technology - its capabilities offer a unique tablet experience that is fun, convenient and entertaining.

The stylus of the HTC Flyer can be used to draw, paint, write and, for the budding artist, be used to retouch pictures. When in stylus mode, 'palm-rejection' technology ensures that touching the screen with a hand does not affect stylus activity, a great feature that is exclusive to the Flyer.

However, it's not just the stylus pen that's exclusive to the HTC Flyer. Built-in synchronisation with the note taking application Evernote means there's always the opportunity to scribble down ideas, make a voice recording, or snap an image to make notes on. Anything created in Evernote is stored in the Cloud, meaning it can easily be accessed from another device or online later on.

For many people, the HTC Flyer tablet may be their first tablet purchase, so what else is there to know about this nifty Android device? For a start, it’s extremely pocketable. Measuring just over 13mm in thickness and weighing in at 420g, the new HTC tablet does not come with too much bulk. With a 7-inch screen, the Flyer is comparable to the Samsung Galaxy Tab, although a 1.5GHz processor makes it significantly more powerful.

One of the main features that people consider when buying a tablet is the entertainment value. On this front, the Flyer cannot be faulted. The new OnLive game service from HTC provides the best games available via the web, while new video service HTC Watch transforms the tablet into a portable cinema on the go. There's also a range of classic books built into the Flyer, but the keen reader can always download the Kindle app from the Android Market for access to a multitude of titles.

No tablet would be complete without a good set of camera specs, so here's what the Flyer has to offer; on the back there's a 5MP camera, which can record HD video at 720p. With 32GB on board memory and a MicroSD card slot, there's plenty of space to store any home made movies and photos. There's also a 1.3 megapixel camera on the front, perfect for video calling.  http://www.clove.co.uk/htc-flyer
