A Realtor brings consistency to marketing  your home, they are available to answer phone calls about your home not to mention the 1000's of Realtors who subscribe to the MLS that can answer questions about your home.            

A Realtor can expose your home to more buyers.

You have no idea who you are allowing into your home, if they can even afford your home.

A Realtor will bring well qualified buyers through your door.

When you are emotionally involved you do not negotiate well.

A Realtor negotiates for a living and brings those skills to the transaction.

If you are one of those homeowners who "does not really have to sell" then FSBO (for sale by owner) might be a good idea because you are usually priced above the market thinking your home will bring more than your neighbors. National Association of Realtors reports that FSBO are on the decline in Texas and that would stand to reason given the buyers market we find ourselves in.

Interview a few Realtors and find one that knows your neighborhood and let them do their job.
