Preston Mazda’s 2011 Mazda3 Awarded Top Safety Pick by IIHS

March 23, 2011 - PRLog -- The all new 2011 Mazda3 has been awarded the highest possible crash safety rating of “Good” in all four tests conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). The IIHS has named the 2011 Mazda3 the “Top Safety Pick” of the year. Maryland Mazda Dealer, Preston Mazda, is thrilled to offer the highly awarded MAZDA3. To qualify for “Top Safety Pick”, a vehicle must earn the highest rating of good in the Institute's front, side, and rear impact crash tests as well as a roof strength test (implemented in 2010), which measures occupant protection in the event of a rollover. Each vehicle’s overall evaluation is based on measurements of intrusion specific to each crash angle and the injury impact on crash test dummies positioned within the vehicles at the time of collision. Furthermore only vehicles equipped with Electronic Stability Control (ESC) are eligible for testing which is standard on the Mazda3.
