March 23, 2011 - PRLog -- (Kingston, Jamaica) It was the year 2007 and Reggae/Hip-Hop artiste Tafari was working with ace Producer Tony ‘CD’ Kelly out of his Miami base studio when a deal was brokered for several of his tracks to be featured on an album for a motion picture.  Tracks included on the album by Tafari are  "Darker Side Of Jamaica," Written by Tony Kelly Performed by Tafari Courtesy of JDS Records, "Tafari Intro"
Written and Performed by Tony Kelly Courtesy of Tony Kelly and Bad Bad performed by Tafari and Ava.

The movie, ‘Illegal Tender” (click to view http://www.solarmovie.com/movie/playlink/id/239066/part/1) was released August 24th and also featured soundtracks by Damian Marley and Tony Matterhorn as well as RUN DMC, Wu Tang Clan, PitBull and Lil John (click to view listing http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0775488/soundtrack).

Tafari went on to drop singles such as, ‘Rude Bwoy Warning’ and ‘Ain’t No Stopping’ featuring Junior ‘One Blood Reid’ but admits that while he has no regrets about music he made earlier in his career, he accepts that some of those lyrics were harsh and could have sent the wrong signals about him as a Hip-Hop artiste with Jamaican lineage.   Hence he took the decision to tone down his lyrics but further enhance production. It is ironic however that popular RnB/Hip-Hop artiste Rihanna released an inviting single entitled “Rude Boy” after Tafari’s own ‘Rude Bwoy Warning’ track and video circulated online, and her video hinted some sort of Jamaican connection.

The original rude boy’s effort yielded new tracks such as the recent “Money In My Pocket” single on his Rud3 Music label which shot to #43 on Itunes US Top 100 Reggae Songs Chart and #54 on Itune Greece Top 100 Reggae songs Charts upon its release.  In a review by U.S. College Journal (TCJ), this new single was described as ‘a vintage Jamerican reggae blend” that “burns slow and smooth from start to finish.” Watch the video here:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ceYS_hh-82A
