Sissy Gamache IS the law this week with actor turned law student Bobby Carroll LIVE

March 24, 2011 - PRLog -- Robert Carroll was born and raised in Windsor Terrace Brooklyn and currently lives in Park Slope Brooklyn. Mr Carroll grew up wanting to cross the bridge and make it on the NY stage and majored in Theatre and History at Binghamton University after graduating high school.
He also studied at Stella Adler Studios and The Atlantic Theatre as well as HB Studios with last week's guest, Austin Pendelton.

Since graduating from college and acting schools, Mr Carroll has gone on to work extensively with the Storm Theatre, The Alchemy Theatre Company of Manhattan, The Blackfriars Repertory Company, and Phare Play. Selected theatre credits include playing Harry in Pulitzer Prize winning play Time of Your Life, Silvious in As You Like It, Sullivan in The Shaughraun, Brother Andrew in Jeremiah as part of the Karol  Wojtyla Theatre Festival all with the Storm Theatre.  He also worked with The Blackfriars Repertory Company and the Storm Theatre on Paul Claudel's The Tidings Brought to Mary at the Paradise Factory. He also played Gus/Augustus in Arcadia with Phare Play and was apart of their 24hr play festival Spring Shorts.

Mr Carroll has recently added writing to his talents currently writing a sitcom teleplay called "Reasonable Doubt" about two actors who get tricked into going to law school. He also just had the first reading of his new play "A Snapshot in Time" a play about two political consultants struggling with doing what they think is right and trying to win an election during the first few hours of Primary Day. There will be another reading of "A Snapshot in Time" soon and  hopes the play will be produced this summer.  

His multiple career aspirations seems to be his inspiration for his writing as he recently enrolled in Law School this fall at New York Law School and will graduate in May 2013. IHe is interested in how his studies at law school can be used in the fields of theatre and politics of which he has had a lot of experience working with also

Mr Carroll has worked and grown up around politics. His father (Jack Carroll) is an election lawyer and mother (Mary Beth Carroll) worked for the New York State Assembly and is currently a reading teacher in the New York City Public School system. While most kids' favorite memories are of their dad taking them to their first ball game, one of Robert's favorite memories as a kid was picketing an Assembly Woman's campaign office with his father. Robert is currently the Vice President of Central Brooklyn Independent Democrats. CBID was found over forty years ago by former Assembly Member Joe Ferris in protest against the Vietnam War and the corrupt Brooklyn Democratic machine.

While most aspiring actors are waiting tables, tending bar or working in temp offices, Mr Carroll has been a political consultant for Congressional, NYC Comptroller, NY City Council, and District Leader campaigns. He worked for New York State Assembly-member Jim Brennan, New York City Council Member David Greenfield, District Leader Chris Owens (son of famed civil rights Congressman Major Owens) District Leader Lincoln Restler and many others usually consulting on campaign on ballot access and the petitioning process but has held most jobs one can have in a political campaign.
