Trio tied at the top in New Delhi

March 24, 2011 - PRLog -- Bangladesh's Siddikur produced some excellent golf to grab a share of the lead at the SAIL Open in New Delhi on Wednesday.





Siddikur is tied at the top alongside Akinori Tani of Japan and Kiradech Aphibarnrat of Thailand. All three carded five-under-par 67 for a two day total of nine-under 135 to take a one stroke lead at the Delhi Golf Club for this event co-sanctioned by the Asian Tour and PGTI.



India's Gaganjeet Bhullar (69), Ajeetesh Sandhu (67) and Prom Meesawat (68) of Thailand are tied in fourth on a 136 total.



Siddikur made three birdies on each nine, along with a bogey on his last hole of the day.



"I'm happy with what I shot these two days. It was excellent play. Everything seems to be falling into place for me," he said.



The 26-year-old said he feels comfortable playing in India.



"I started my golf career on the PGTI and India feels like my second home. This is a very challenging course and every shot is very important especially the tee shot. I'm looking forward to the next two days," he added.



Kiradech also made six birdies and one boegy in his round, though he had a strong finish to thank for his position, birdying holes 17 and 18 before reaching the clubhouse.



"I feel very comfortable with the new changes that I've made to my putting. I think with these new changes, I will be able to win TaylorMade Burner SuperFast 2.0 Driver on the Asian Tour," said Kiradech, who came close to victory on several occasions last year.



Tani took a bit of a risk on the tight fairways in pulling out his driver = http://www.enjoymygolf.com/goods-260-TaylorMade+Burner+Su... for a number of the holes, but it paid off.



"This course is very narrow but my strength in my game is accuracy and this golf course suits my game," said the two-time Japan Challenge Tour winner.
