| How about TaylorMade R9 TP driverDistance wise, it seems about the same as the R7 TP was, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. The R7 had a hot face! We think that Taylormade hit the nail on the head with this one.
By: golfdiscountsale The TaylorMade R9 TP driver is virtually 24 drivers in one that features Flight Control Technology (FCT) and Movable Weight Technology (MWT) to create complete adjustability for maximum flight control and up to 75 yards of side-to-side adjustability. With FCT, the player may adjust the face angle, the lie angle and effective loft by simple shaft/head adjustments with 8 different clubhead positions to choose from. The MWT allows the player to change the center of gravity (CG) location to promote more accuracy and premium trajectories. It also features TaylorMade's Inverted Cone Technology which promotes faster ball speeds across the entire face for faster ball speeds and more distance. Its New Classic head shape combines classic and modern lines to create an aesthetically pleasing look from address. The TP model is the same head as the R9, but with upgraded shaft options. The R9 TP uses the brand new Flight Control Technology (FCT) which allows the golfer to change the face angle, lie angle and loft of the R9 TP by using a simple wrench. Using a simple bolt positioned in the clubhead the R9 TP can be used in eight different positions and golfers can change position in seconds. This adaptability allows the R9 TP to promote shots which are higher, carry further and move right to left, which are lower, controlled and move left to right or which are neutral, mid height and straight. This makes the R9 TP one of the most workable and adaptable clubs on the market. Tournament pro’s regularly having their TaylorMade drivers tweaked but the R9 is one of the first clubs to offer this lever of control to every golfer. Movable Weight Technology also plays a big part in the R9 TP driver with three weight ports in the clubhead and each driver coming with one 16 gram and two 1 gram weights. Since we only had feedback from very good golfers we decided to hit up a public range for a session with players of all skill levels. As usual, we walked up and down the range and got to see 17 golfers try out this club. One by one we spoke with the player and watched him hit his own driver. Then we gave him the R9 and modified it as needed for the player. None of the 17 golfers did find a setup that fit their swing and made them hit it straight. It was quite remarkable actually. We have never had a driver in all the tests we have done that fit this many people. It really goes to show how important getting fitted actually is. The majority of the time, the R9 performed as well as you could expect. The 420cc clubhead proved plenty workable and moderately forgiving. Though I don't like the triangular shape, it's subtle enough that it's not a real concern (I debated even mentioning it a second time). The club exudes manliness and power. Overall, the R9 seems to live up to the hype. Distance wise, it seems about the same as the R7 TP was, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. The R7 had a hot face!
