Narragansett Kicks off Spring With Restaurant Week

Narragansett Restaurant Week features 26 local restaurants offering special menu items and discounts, from a free cup of chowder, 15-percent off the entire menu or two steak dinners for $20.11. Restaurant week is March 25-April 3.
 
March 25, 2011 - PRLog -- NARRAGANSETT, RI – Shoulder season activities are unique events in South County and the South County Tourism Council considers Narragansett Restaurant Week March 25-April 3 as a wonderful opportunity for visitors to acquaint themselves with the area.
“The deals are so good,” said Debbie Kelso, Narragansett Chamber Director, sponsor of Restaurant Week. “That’s the driving force.”
This is the third year Restaurant Week has been offered, and 26 restaurants are participating. The only parameters the Chamber set is the time frame and to end the prices with 11-cents, for 2011. Restaurants are offering specials such as a free cup of chowder, 15-percent off the entire menu, or two steak dinners for $20.11.
The South County Tourism Council regards Narragansett Restaurant week as an outstanding way to bring diners to local restaurants, especially to try a new locale.
Basil’s of Narragansett is serving a three-course meal for $20.11. “He’s known as a fine dining establishment,” Kelso explained. “He likes this because people are coming in and trying the restaurant.”
Restaurant Week is an important start to the busy summer season in South County. “It’s very good, the restaurants love it,” Kelso said. “Everyone likes to eat.”
