Mirada Medical Teams Up With M5 Medical in Oncology Imaging Software Deal

March 28, 2011 - PRLog -- UK-based Mirada Medical said Monday that it had signed a distribution agreement with M5 Medical to sell Mirada's XD3 advanced imaging software for oncology assessment and follow-up.

The deal deepens M5 Medical's offerings, which now include a full range of service packages, new and refurbished imaging hardware, and cutting-edge multi-modality software.

Mirada Medical's XD3 software provides users with any combination of vendor neutral CT, PET, MR and SPECT images at a fraction of the cost of a hybrid system, according to Mirada.

The software's flexibility enables users to fuse an MR scan with a PET/CT scan.  This capability allows users and medical professionals to assess tumors and soft tissue abnormalities that are better visualized with MR than with CT.

The companies did not disclose any of the financial terms of their distribution agreement.  M5 Medical is based in the United States.

Mirada's software can be acquired as a stand-alone software package, be integrated with a powerful workstation or with any of the M5 Medical high quality refurbished systems (PET, CT, MRI and SPECT).
