Author/Artist J. W. Winslow Creates Interactive e-Book With Original Music, Voice, Images, and Links

Winslow has created an e-Book based on her novel "Jasmine Dogs: Mystic Adventures in Big Sur" that pioneers the new medium as a total work of art, from the cover painting by Big Sur artist Erin Lee Gafill, to the original music written by Columbia Records artist Tom Ayres (Chuck Prophet, Persephone's Bees), to J.W.'s own performance in reading the words she wrote. This interactive e-Book includes pictures of places and items, links to websites and webcameras pertinent to the story, and text for reading.

The electronic "Jasmine Dogs: Mystic Adventures in Big Sur" is scheduled to be available for purchase in all formats on April 1, 2011 for $9.99srp, including Kindle, Adobe Digital Editions, Nook, and iPad. The original soft cover book "Jasmine Dogs: Mystic Adventures in Big Sur," manufactured through Winslow's own Fresh Art publishing company, is a prototype "Green Book" composed entirely from recycled components, including cover and page stock, soy ink, and linseed binding glue. The e-book release continues the author and publisher's dedication to environmentally friendly mediums, a fact made more poignant by debuting in April, supporting the goals of Earth Day. J. W. Winslow has previously published "Sensual Indigo: Memoir of a Renaissance Woman" and a collection of poetry called "Websongs" which have been released monthly online.

Winslow is the daughter of character actor Dick Winslow ("Mutiny On The Bounty", "Jailhouse Rock", "Airport"), and she grew-up among the production crews, screenwriters, and movie stars of Hollywood. The story of "Jasmine Dogs: Mystic Adventures in Big Sur” involves insider Hollywood scandals and evolves up the California coast to the land of myth and self-discovery known as Big Sur.
