Solo Art show, "Avril II - Joy of Living"

March 30, 2011 - PRLog -- PBC Art Gallery, a not for profit vertical of Paharpur Business Centre (PBC), organizes an art show at the residence of Kamal Meattle, CEO, PBC.

Kapila Vatsyayan - Rajya Sabha MP & a leading Indian Scholar of Arts, Arpana Caur- Distinguished Contemporary Indian Painter, H.E. Mr. Jérôme Bonnafont- Ambassador, Embassy of France, Keshav Malik - an eminent Indian Poet, Arts Scholar & Curator, and Alka Pande - Art Consultant & Curator are the guests of honour. Several other eminent personalities will also be participating in this show.

About Ms. Sudha Pillai:

Sudha is known for her figurative and abstract paintings and her expressive portraits of women. According to Keshav Malik "her art has freshness and appeal. The general understatedness is sensitizing and the occasional architectural forms bracing and crisp".

She is deeply influenced by the impressionists but returns frequently to the Indian idiom. To quote: G.R. Santosh - "Indian tradition is based on the universal concept of the ultimate reality manifesting itself in a myriad shapes and forms in time and space".

In the exhibition, which is titled, "Avril II - Joy of Living", the paintings celebrate these myriad forms and the gift of life.
