Maine Inns Raise Funds for Habitat for Humanity

March 30, 2011 - PRLog -- Beginning April 25, 2011 and ending May 27, 2011, bed and breakfasts and inns in Maine will be participating in a special charity event benefitting Habitat for Humanity.  BnBFinder.com, a top ranked bed and breakfast online directory, supports these inns and the work they are doing.

The Maine Innkeepers Association (MEIA) has announced the 8th Annual Hospitality for Humanity program, a fund-raising event that benefits local chapters of Habitat for Humanity.  Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry seeking to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action. To date they have built over 400,000 decent, affordable houses and served more than 2 million people worldwide.

Initiated in 2004 by innkeeper Marian Burns of Mira Monte Inn & Suites in Bar Harbor, ME, the Hospitality for Habitat program encourages guests to make donations.  Participating inns will be offering rooms at half off to any guest that makes a minimum donation of $35 per stay to Habitat for Humanity.
