March 30, 2011 - PRLog -- Durham, NC--- On March 31st, Ambassadors from African Embassies in Washington, D.C. along with an official from the United Nations will be in attendance at The African Diaspora Business Financing Forum in Durham, North Carolina.  "Their presence here indicates their level of support of our efforts to educate and inform those African business owners in the U.S. of financial and technical assistance available to them," states Grace Dzidzienyo, the creator of the event.

Representatives from Wells Fargo, Fifth-Third Bank, The Small Business Administration, Generations Credit Union, and several agencies that lend support to business owners will be present at the Radisson Inn at Research Triangle Park. The one-day conference boasts registrations as far away as Liberia, and several from Virginia, Florida and the Washington, D.C.area.

The Embassy of the Republic of Kenya was the first to offer Grace Dzidzienyo support in creating the Forum. Although no set figures have been proven, Kenyan natives residing in the Triangle region of North Carolina often say that they believe there are 10,000 (Kenyan's) living in the area, with several of them operating small businesses. There has been no formal measurement done of African diaspora business owners in the United States. However, according to Ambassador Elkanah Odembo (Kenya), "I have had so many Kenyan native business owners ask me how to access capital and technical assistance in my travels, I know that such an event is required."
