By: Eye on Excellence™ Productions Heising, who also stars in the series title role as Betty, the wife, prefaces the events of the third episode, which is now airing: “While Irwin, our alien, is enjoying the Hollywood spotlight, wife Betty becomes a theoretical physicist. With the aid of lab assistant Myles Portnik, she develops a worm-bubble to take her and Irwin back to his home planet Scorpiox. However, trouble develops along the way, and they are forced to land on the planet Mars. Will they make it back to Scorpiox? Future episodes will relate their struggle.” John Cox, the writer of the “Alien’s Wife” series, also produces, directs and edits the show, which is being shot at the Time Warner Studio in Costa Mesa, Calif. Episode 5 features Mark-Scott Renfro as Lab Assistant Portnik. After a lengthy career in computers, illness forced Renfro to reassess his life. He decided to do something enjoyable and took up acting in 2007. He has studied commercial acting under casting director Patrick McManis and Daphne Kirby as well as acting for TV and film under director Robert M. Conrad, notable for such productions as Heartbreak Café. Renfro played the recurring role of scientist, Dr. Mosley, in the web series/television series OUTWORLD and was prominent in the role of Uncle Billy in “It’s a Wonderful Life,” on the stage of the Newport Beach Repertory Theater.
