EV Park N Plug, LLC Announces Residential Lease Option for Home Charging Stations

EV Park N Plug, a public electric vehicle charging network just outside of the Houston metroplex on Galveston Island, announces plans to offer lease options on home charging stations.

April 4, 2011 - PRLog -- EV Park N Plug, known as the public electric vehicle charging network on Galveston Island and responsible for the ‘EV Tourism’ concept, is now offering competitive rates on home electric vehicle charging station leases for the entire Houston area.

The residential leasing options for Houston electric vehicle owners is minimal, but EV Park N Plug wants to prove that a small startup can compete with the biggest in this new industry by offering monthly rates lower than its competition.

The home charging stations will be Coulomb Technologies’ CT500, a 7.2 kW single output station. The station delivers Level ll charging and is compatible with plug-in electric vehicles that comply with SAE J1772™ charging standard. The ChargePoint™ networked charging stations can be upgraded and diagnosed remotely; offer real-time remote alarm monitoring; network interface for seamless integration with back office business systems, AMIs or home area networks; are smart grid compatible; and can provide accurate bi-directional energy measurement.

“We are offering the best charging stations available through our public network, and we want to offer the same advantages to EV owners at home,” says Justin Owens, Principal at EV Park N Plug.

EV Park N Plug is ready to accept residential customers. While their main focus has been the public infrastructure, they realize that home chargers will be part of the big picture in the advancement of electric vehicles. They are currently offering residential customers a 60 month lease term at $39.00 per month. This will include the installation, the CT500 charging station and service/maintenance.
