Preston Ford Lincoln Sees Sales Increase as Ford Outsells GM in Maryland and US

April 5, 2011 - PRLog -- General Motor or GM was ousted by Ford Motor Company this past March as Ford outsold GM for the second time since 1998. Last month Ford had outsold GM by a margin of 5,674 vehicles for a total of 212,295 light vehicles. Ford also outsold GM in February of 2010 but by only 471 vehicles. Preston Ford Lincoln shared this success but selling more vehicles than there objective in both Delaware and Maryland.

Ford’s March results were powered by higher fleet sales, a strong F-Series Ford Truck demand (F-150), and record monthly sales on the 2011 Ford Fusion and 2011 Ford Escape. Also on a special note 2011 Ford Fiesta sales reached 9,787 which are up 56% over February’s 2011 sales. What really made a factor in Ford’s success was the 2011 F-Series truck lineup, which bolsters a more fuel efficient powertrain. These Ford trucks are up 25% from a year ago.

“The outlook for Ford is simply amazing,” says Chad Todd, Sales Manager of Preston Ford Lincoln in Maryland, “We sell a lot of trucks in our market and have for years but with the increased fuel economy from the new 2011 powertrains we are seeing buyers from smaller vehicles looking at F-Series trucks.” At the end of last month ford had also launched the new 2012 Ford Focus which is expected to drive up even more sales this month. The new 2012 Ford Focus is one of three vehicles from Ford that gets 40 mpg (the other two are the Ford Fiesta, and Ford Fusion Hybrid).
