Follow on Google News | Parents Raise Funds for Main Line School with SPRING TIDE 2011Devon Prep's Parent's Association Raised over $80,000 for the Main Line school for boys.
The evening began with a cocktail reception in Devon Prep’s beautiful mansion, Calasanctius Hall where the quartet “Old Time Music” entertained the guests. Many of the attendees came in western attire, really getting into the swing of things. After an hour the event moved to the athletic facility for dinner, dancing and the silent and live auction. The school was beautifully decorated for the occasion and there were plenty of photo opportunities, especially in front of Calasanctius Hall with this year’s Mascot horse, Beetle Bailey, on loan from Valley Forge Military Academy. Among this year’s auction items were vacation homes, sporting event tickets, music and theater tickets, jewelry, restaurants certificates, collectibles, college gear, theme baskets and Devon Prep memorabilia. In addition a raffle with three prizes, $10,000 in cash, $2,500 in cash, and an I Pad was also held. Mr. and Mrs. Mike and Teri Magnotta of Berwyn served as chairs of Spring TIDE 2011. They were assisted by a host of parent and alumni parent volunteers. Cocktails and Hors d’oeuvres were catered by Marie Clare’s Custom Cakes & Catering, and the Pig Roast/Dinner was catered by Luigi and Giovanni. Devon Prep students worked as servers throughout the evening helping with appetizers, dinner, and refreshments. Devon Prep is a private, Catholic, college preparatory school for young men in grades 6 through 12 conducted by the Piarist Fathers. The school, which is located on North Valley Forge Road in Devon, PA, enrolls nearly 300 students who hail from Delaware, Montgomery and Chester counties as well as parts of Philadelphia. End
