Cheryl is also celebrating the release of her first book titled: “Die Free: A Heroic Family Tale”. In the book - Cheryl shares the unvarnished truth about her family roots in this remarkable journey from slavery to freedom in America.

As the nation marks the sesquicentennial of the American Civil War – Wills book follows her Great–Great–Great Grandfather through his courageous stint in that Great War. It also serves as a remembrance for the other 200,000 members of the “United States Colored Troops” who have largely been ignored in Anniversaries past.

When she’s not behind her Anchor’s desk at NY1, Cheryl Wills is also a highly sought after speaker at Colleges, Schools and other events both locally and nationally.
