Beat the Banks – Creating Success

Despite the messages of economic doom and destruction that keep rolling out of the news room, Sean Sheehan of MkM Direct Ltd. has been carving out his own path of success.
 
April 20, 2011 - PRLog -- In early August of 2010, when unemployment was at nearly 14% and the recession had no end in sight, Sean Sheehan, now Managing Director of MkM Direct Ltd, did what was probably the opposite of what logic might have dictated, and opened his own company specializing in direct sales and marketing. Since then, the company has experienced steady growth each quarter and has recently expanded, opening new branches and taking on new clients.

MkM began with only one client, and had a small sales team in Limerick signing up domestic customers for a national energy company. After steady growth and record breaking sales figures, Sheehan solidified his company and enhanced his reputation by tackling the launch of E-lites in Ireland with unprecedented success. Sales figures out of his Limerick office beat out distribution centres throughout Ireland and the UK.

Now, only eight short months later, MkM Direct is operating a business to business corporate acquisition team in Dublin in addition to its continued success in their Limerick office. However, one success is never enough, and Sheehan explains, “I never let myself or my team rest. We are always looking ahead and setting goals, using one success as a stepping stone to reach the next target.”

This is clearly demonstrated by the acquisition of four new clients in as many weeks. The first, sid.ie (a business networking and marketing company), launches on Friday, with an events based cosmetics campaign and cooperate energy and telecoms projects to be following shortly.

“It’s absolutely exhilarating. Our business and our reputation as industry experts are growing exponentially – we can hardly keep up” says Sheehan, “but I love it. There’s nothing better than creating success in business for yourself and for your clients.”

There are busy months ahead for MkM Direct. With so many new clients on board they are now focusing on getting the right people in the door and ensuring everyone they are working with can continue to deliver the high level of service that MkM promises its customer and clients.

When asked for the secret to his success, Sheehan said there was no secret - set goals, work hard, and don’t give yourself any other option except to succeed.

So, despite news today of banks closing and unemployment holding steady, it seems they sky is the limit for MkM Direct. With talks continuing to launch even more direct marketing campaigns, and ambitious plans to expand across Ireland and into the UK by the end of the year, MkM Direct is a force to be reckoned with and definitely one to keep an eye on for the year to come.
