Jennifer Brusca, MSEd, RN-BC, Nursing Professional Development at RVMC, will take you on a trip through the latest technological advancements in healthcare from TomoTherapy for cancer care to endovascular labs in surgery, electronic medical records, imaging, fully automated chemistry systems in the lab, new techniques in pharmacy, and premature baby care. New technology is also improving nurse training. Brusca will take the audience on a guided tour of the new simulation lab (Simlab) at the Smullin Center; used for advance training of nurses and other caregivers in a hospital setting.
