Follow on Google News | Pink Koala Design Gives BackLocal designer gives back to her community’s women and children in need
The Life After Joey Project intends to take back customers’ gently used baby items that have "outgrown" their purpose and re-purpose them for local women and children in need. Every time a customer returns an "outgrown" item, Pink Koala Design will give them a $10 coupon to use on their next order. The concept was generated in April 2011, after Katrina Griffis, owner of Pink Koala Design, volunteered at a local charity consignment event. “I was helping pack everything up and it hit me that I would hate to think about someone just tossing one of our products. We work so hard to design and manufacture them and they really are precious to us. What can I do?” said Griffis, “Then I thought I can ask my customers to send the products back so that I can repurpose them for women and children in need. There are many great organizations in our community so felt it was a great idea. Pink Koala Design customers will be helping to give back to the global community and get something in return”. “I’m very excited to see what this project will mean to women and children in need in St. Mary's County. I’ve donated our products to quite a few organizations and it is always very fulfilling. I hope that my customers can experience the same feeling and get a little something back from us.” # # # Pink Koala Design marries modern and vintage influences and offers a collection of stylish, functional and practical accessories in an assortment of fabrics, old and new.
