Brookline, MA Single-family Home Prices Down, Sales Rise Q1 2011

June 13, 2011 - PRLog -- The median price of single-family homes in Brookline, Massachusetts decreased in the first quarter 2011 while sales slightly increased, according to data analyzed by Buyers Brokers Only LLC, an exclusive buyer agent real estate firm.

The data were compiled using MLS Property Information Network, Inc, a local multiple listing service.

The median price of single-family homes fell 10.6 percent in Q1 2011 compared to the previous year, a difference of $123,500.  Single-family home sales in Brookline, MA rose 23.8 percent in Q1 2011, a difference of five sales compared to Q1 2010.

Condominium prices increased 11.6 percent in Q1 2011 compared to the same time in the previous year, a difference of $51,000. Condo sales dropped drastically, falling 28.9 percent compared to Q1 2010, a difference of 24 sales.

The median price of multi-family homes decreased 7.3 percent in the first quarter of 2011, a difference of $85,000 compared to Q1 2010. Sales increased 25 percent, although a difference of only one sale.
