PRLog -- Many people who hear the term "To Arms To Arms The British Are Coming!" are familiar with its all too familiar ring. Many of us know and understand that on April 18, 1775, America experienced a fateful date in its history. On that night, Paul Revere, a somewhat less than familiar Boston businessman and silversmith, road his horse through the darkened countryside and announced to his fellow colonists “To Arms!” British Red Coats were arriving by sea to suppress any effort by the American colonists to gain their freedom from the tyranny of the British crown. Once they were alerted, the Minutemen, grabbing their muskets, responded at Lexington and Concord, and the rest is as they say has become our history.
Since this day it has become an American right to bear arms and defend one’s own property and personal freedoms. It is so important to us that it has become part of the very fabric of who we are as Americans and has been written into our law with the passing of the Second Amendment to the Constitution. As a people we are the largest Army in the world with the ability to arm ourselves and meet any enemy foreign or domestic. It is the soldier citizenry of America that has this distinction. Owning a firearm is a personal choice and we as Americans have that right to choose. The types of weapons and options are as distinctive as their owners.
