Gordon McKernan & McKernan Law Firm Settle Cement Truck Accident - $375,000

May 3, 2011 - PRLog -- Gordon McKernan, Richard Zimmerman and McKernan Law Firm settle a cement truck accident for $375,000.  The plaintiff, a 59-year old concrete finisher, was at a dead stop in his vehicle when he was struck by a concrete truck that was traveling in reverse on Worthy Road in Ascension Parish.  As a result of the collision, the plaintiff injured his lumbar spine and undertook conservative care.  Approximately two years post-accident, the plaintiff underwent a lumbar fusion.  The defendants contested causation arguing that the plaintiff had complained to his family physician of back pain radiating into his legs, just two weeks prior to the accident.  The plaintiff argued that the accident greatly increased his symptoms and ultimately lead to him needing surgery.  Shortly before trial, the case was settled for $375,000.
