PCL Named Presenting Sponsor of Colorado Symphony Ball

PCL's philanthropic philosophy the perfect match for Colorado Symphony mission and vision

May 3, 2011 - PRLog -- The Colorado Symphony is honored to announce that PCL will be the presenting sponsor of the 2011 Colorado Symphony Ball. As presenting sponsor, PCL has made a generous donation in support of the Colorado Symphony's education and outreach programs.

"PCL Construction is proud to support such an important piece of Denver's cultural heritage by sponsoring the 2011 Colorado Symphony Ball," said PCL President, Al Troppmann. "For many years the performing arts has played an important role within the culture of our community, and the Colorado Symphony's musical education and outreach programs continue to make positive and vibrant impacts in our neighborhoods and schools. PCL is pleased to help continue this tradition."

PCL, which has a diverse and inclusive approach to community outreach, is recognized for many philanthropic efforts in Colorado and across North America.

"The Colorado Symphony is proud to welcome PCL as the presenting sponsor of this weekend's Colorado Symphony Ball," said James W. Palermo, CEO, Colorado Symphony. "PCL's philanthropic philosophy and outreach is similar to that of the Colorado Symphony, and their support will help to both sustain and advance the Colorado Symphony's education and outreach programs for schoolchildren throughout the coming season."

The Colorado Symphony Ball opens its door at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 7 at the Sheraton Denver Plaza Ballroom and culminates in a live concert with one of the most iconic bands in American music history, The Temptations. Without a doubt, The Temptations will thrill attendees with timeless songs such as "Just My Imagination (Running Away with Me)," "My Girl," "Ain't Too Proud to Beg," "Papa Was a Rolling Stone," and Smokey Robinson's "The Way You Do the Things You Do."

The evening features both silent and live auctions, including a newly-announced celebrity auction item: A signed violin from Itzhak Pearlman, who autographed the violin following his sold-out concert with the Colorado Symphony in April.

Colorado Symphony Ball officials are also pleased to share that the event is ahead of sales from 2010, and that many enthusiastic supporters plan to dance the night away at this much-anticipated black tie and evening gown affair. A select number of "late night" tickets are still available for those who wish to arrive later and catch the concert with The Temptations. Perfect for the younger and more budget-conscious crowd, these late night Symphony Ball tickets are available for $95 each and include the full Temptations concert experience. Doors open at 8:30 p.m. for late night ticketholders, who will join the festivities already in-progress. Tickets are currently on sale at the Colorado Symphony Box Office.

Originally established in 1989 as the successor to the Denver Symphony, the Colorado Symphony performs in Boettcher Concert Hall and throughout the Front Range, presenting outstanding education and outreach programs, as well as Masterworks, Pops, Holiday, Family, and the exciting new "Inside the Score" series that has attracted a historic level of first-time concertgoers. By presenting music that is both timeless and inspiring, while taking risks with new musical collaborations and interactive concerts, the Colorado Symphony is attracting more diverse and younger audiences than ever before. To date, 30 percent of the 2010/11 season concertgoers are new patrons. The increasing popularity of Colorado Symphony concerts as well as a strong fund-raising base not only re-affirms the artistic excellence of the orchestra, but also reflects the deep-rooted enthusiasm for symphonic music felt by so many individuals across the region.
