My Precious Sweets Presents: Tea Party Gone Wrong: Introduction To 3-D Cake Design

May 5, 2011 - PRLog -- Attention all you Food Network and Lifetime Channel watchers! Attention all you part time chefs and aspiring bakers! Cakes By Lameeka will be hosting classes in cake sculpting, where local designers will teach specialty classes, on May 23, 2011.

Myia Primm of My Precious Sweets will be teaching a class in 3-D cake scultping called: Tea Party Gone Wrong on May 23, 2011!

This class will teach students the basic skills needed to construct 3-D cakes.  Tea Party Gone Wrong is a take on a topsy- turvy cake, with dramatic, gravity defying angles. This cake can be the delicious centerpiece at bridal showers, baby showers, or birthday parties by making variations in the final decoration of the cake.

Students will fill, carve, and cover real cake in fondant adding pre-made accents- teacup handle, teapot handle and spout. The completed cake will leave you so excited!  The possibilities are almost endless with this new method of decorating cakes and will take the fear out of these gravity defying cakes.  You will become a regular at your local hardware store!

The cost for the class is $200 per student and this price includes all supplies, lunch, and snack. The materials provided include: Gumpaste, fondant, royal icing, PVC cake skeleton, wires, boards, supports, cake, and buttercream.

Students will need to bring: Gumpaste tools, fondant smoother, large and small rolling pins, cornstarch in stocking, paint brushes, 1 cup piping gel, small hammer, luster dust, 1 cup shortening or Baking spray, glue gun, Exacto knife, Pizza cutter, Extension cords.
