Garden to Gourmet Cooking Class includes Chicago Green City Market Tour with Chef Patrick Sheerin

May 12, 2011 - PRLog -- CHICAGO, Ill. – Executive Chef Patrick Sheerin is passionate about bringing fresh ingredients and farm-grown produce to the menus served at The Signature Room at the 95th.  For the fifth year in a row, he will share that passion with 30 lucky participants during two exclusive Garden to Gourmet cooking classes scheduled for Saturday, June 25th and Saturday, July 16th from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.

The class begins at Chicago’s famous Green City Market in the heart of Lincoln Park, where Chef Sheerin introduces the farmers and growers that bring their fresh selections to market each weekend of the summer.  Each year, The Signature Room purchases 80,000 pounds of local produce from the market farmers including asparagus, tomatoes, eggplant, potatoes and more.  

After the tour, class participants attend an interactive cooking demonstration high above The Magnificent Mile, and receive recipes featuring ingredients in season before being served a special private lunch complemented by champagne.  Cost for the class is $75 per person, all inclusive.
