Detroit Produces Nationally Acclaimed Academic Powerhouse!!

Stephen Stafford and Michelle Brown-Stafford to return Detroit youth back to brilliance!

May 12, 2011 - PRLog -- DETROIT, MI – Former Wayne County Community College employee, Michelle Brown-Stafford was at her wits end in molding the mind of then 11 year old Stephen Stafford when her father, current Detroit resident and retired Chrysler Worker, James Brown, encouraged her to contact Morehouse College, the historically black all male institution.   Following her father’s directions, her first contact with the Division Chair of Mathematics and Science believed in nurturing young talent.  Stephen was then enrolled as a pre-teen and history was made.

As a special student, Stephen audited his first class at age 11 and scored at the top of the class, outperforming the much older students in an Honors Algebra course.   He went on to become the youngest student ever to enroll as a regular student at Morehouse College in the institution’s 150 year-old history at age 13!

Stephen’s father, also a Detroit native and former Detroit Edison employee, Stephen Stafford Sr., coached and encouraged his son in mathematics while parental involvement expert Michelle Brown-Stafford, became the primary educator for both their kids Martinique and Stephen.  The child prodigy mom stated “Everything I learned about education early on and passed on to our children was influenced by my father who was a Chrysler employee for many years.  From visits to the bookstore on Harper Avenue to bringing home workbooks when we were ill and out of school. He never wanted his children to end up on the line so he stressed education and lived it through us!  So it isn’t quite surprising that the seeds my father planted in us would reach into another generation and produce what people have come to call a child prodigy!”

Radio hostess Michelle Brown-Stafford, who has been interviewed by Dr. Steve Perry of CNN and profiled by other media outlets for her success with her children, is gearing up for the Detroit visit with the intention to strike at the hearts of disillusioned parents who want to get involved with their children’s education but in many cases don’t know where to begin.  For Michelle Brown Stafford whose International Parents-As-Partners Seminar, Gifted-Spirit.Com website and Radio Program “Conscious Parenting” touch parents on several continents; it ‘s all about bringing the educational resources with an inspirational message!
Parents can hear Michelle Brown-Stafford’s message when she appears alongside her son Stephen Stafford as they inspire the students of Detroit.
