cd3wd distributes free 5xdvd sets in Gaborone Botswana

May 13, 2011 - PRLog -- Cd3wd is a high quality free public domain collection of 7000+ titles which enables DIY development for Third World Countries – agriculture, forestry, fisheries, engineering, mining, energy, small industries, health, education, water and sanitation etc..

Cd3wd is available online (at http://cd3wd.com/cd3wd_40/cd3wd/index.htm) and offline – both as downloads and as a 5xdvd set.  Cd3wd already gets 10,000 web page views daily from 140+ countries, and 90 gigabytes per day of downloads.  50% plus of browsing and downloads are from USA, with recently a rapidly increasing volume from China.

Cd3wd were recently in London UK and distributed free of charge these 5xdvd sets to 4 embassies plus 1 NGO (Chinese, Tanzanian, Tunisian, Egyptian Embassies and to ComputerAid.org)

Cd3wd are now in Botswana and wish over the next 2 weeks to do in Botswana a similar free distribution.  This offer is valid from Friday 13 May 2011 until close of business Friday 27 May 2011.

The proffered recipients include:

- Government of Botswana – all relevant ministries, including Health, MFDP, Agriculture, Employment Creation, and of course the President’s Office

- All Third World, African and Western Embassies and Aid Missions (i.e. traditionally, both Recipients and Donors)

- SADC

- Local and International NGOs with offices or contacts in Gaborone

- Other appropriate developmental organisations, including religious bodies

The 5 x dvd’s will be left at Reception unless otherwise instructed or requested.  They will be in an open parcel to ensure that there is zero security risk.  

The PC on which they have been copied and prepared is highly secure against viruses and all kinds of malware – we run MSE, Prevx, and Malwarebytes and scan on a very regular basis.  The files themselves are .pdf and .htm files, which are highly immune from viruses.  
These files are directly readable from the dvd’s  (although ideally they are copied/ merged onto a PC, Mac or Linux computer for improved organisation, viewing and searching).

No demonstration will be done (except in exceptional circumstances), since the website  -  http://cd3wd.com/cd3wd_40/cd3wd/index.htm - is self-explanatory (as are the dvd sets)

It is hoped and intended that the recipients of this free offer will disseminate on an unlimited basis without any charges of any kind being due to cd3wd.com.  At the same time, taking advantage of this offer in no way obliges the recipient to do any dissemination whatsoever.  Onwards dissemination by the Recipients may be on a free-of-charge, at-cost, or for-profit basis (although of course cd3wd prefers options (1) and (2)).  One should note that the average material cost of 5 blank dvd’s is usually in the region of US$ 1-60 or 10 Pula, when bought in quantities of 50’s or 100’s.

It is the mission statement of cd3wd, and the intention of this Distribution, to assist the Governments and People of Third World Countries to develop and thereby to fight and eradicate Poverty.  We hope that the reception to this offer is sizeable, since it also an indication of the seriousness of both sides (recipients and donors) in the business of Economic and Social Development.
