Entertainment One Enters New Alliance With Contemporary Jazz/Urban AC Label Peak Records

May 13, 2011 - PRLog -- eOne Music announces a new alliance with Peak Records, one of the premiere contemporary jazz/urban AC labels, to provide marketing services and distribution.

The first release under this new arrangement will be “Prime Time,” the new album by urban/contemporary jazz saxophonist Paul Taylor, later to be followed by the debut of the break-out LA-based jazz/pop group, Magnolia Memoir.  In 2012, the Peak/ eOne partnership will release the 25th Anniversary album by famed jazz ensemble The Rippingtons and contemporary jazz guitarist/vocalist Steve Oliver.

Peak Records was originally established in 1994 as a joint venture with GRP Records by Andi Howard and Russ Freeman, leader of the popular contemporary jazz group, The Rippingtons.  In 1997 the label associated with Windham Hill/BMG Records, where they started a contemporary jazz/urban AC division.  This was followed by Peak's highly successful tenure with the Concord Music Group for ten years, with Andi Howard as label president.  Named the #1 Independent Contemporary Jazz Label by Billboard Magazine, Peak was known as the "A" list of the contemporary jazz and urban music genres.  Peak will expand into crossover musical genres covering pop, urban and contemporary jazz as it enters its new partnership with eOne, and Howard will remain at the helm.
